Here I fixed 5 different test areas from the top down for 60sec, 45sec, 30sec, 15sec and 0 seconds. Then I hardened three test areas from left to right for 30sec, 20sec and 0 seconds. There are 15 total test areas. I used Kodak Rapid Fixer w/hardener and used the recommended concentrations for each but made each separate in its own solution with water. |

Here I soaked the exposed hologram in water prior to fixing with hardener mixed together. From top to bottom water soak was 0sec, 15sec, 30sec and 45 seconds. I then fixed on the right side 90sec, on the left 45 seconds.
The hologram is definitely more broad band where there was the water soak for 30 seconds and fixer for 45 seconds. |

The left angle is normal fixing with hardener mixed (1 min) then water then alcohol (normal DCG processing).
The right angle has the same exposure and wavelength (488) but was first soaked in water for 25 seconds prior to fixing/hardening, water and alcohol dehydration then same exact subiquent processes (fix/hard, water, alcohol) as the hologram on the left. |
